Sunset on Braeriach, from Craigellachie woods.
As we pass the Equinox, I’m enjoying the welcome return of light evenings here in Scotland. We’ve had some great settled sunny weather during March, and this was on one of those days recently, when it was actually pleasant to wander around outside without requiring winter clothing.
Luckily I was able to find a spot in Craigellachie woods where I could look out to the hills unobstructed by branches – I love this view of Braeriach catching the last of the sun, with the golden clouds above.
A panoramic view, starting from the Lairig Ghru pass on the far left, the big wide slope of Corrie Gorm, behind the ‘pyramid hill’ of Carn Eilrig, and on to Braeriach at the right, with the hill farm of Tullochgrue and Rothiemurchus forest in the foreground.
I like the simplicity of this quote from Thích Nhat Hanh, and the visual metaphor which makes me smile just thinking of the sunlight.
