Vibrant Fern

Vibrant Fern

Spring in Scotland – several days of magical, vibrant intense colour, with blue skies and heat.  Followed by rain, wind and fresh snow on the hills.  Various ferns are bursting upwards in the woods, this one was sparkling and vibrant in the morning light.

Mystics have told us for millennia that the world is consciousness, that somehow the world we perceive is an illusion.  Modern physics gives us another angle on this, with the knowledge that everything is vibration, energy in movement.  Physicists ‘on the edge’ are beginning to research and figure consciousness into their models.  Seemingly though, it remains impossibly hard to actually understand and grasp this view of ‘reality’.

And yet… direct experience and observation is beginning to teach me that our experience of the world can be changed completely by the thoughts we put ‘out there’.  Somehow, it really is all ‘in here’!

To balance the metaphysics –

“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much – the wheel, New York, wars and so on – whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man – for precisely the same reasons.”

– Douglas Adams, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
