Plockton, West Coast, near Skye
The famously-picturesque village of Plockton on the West coast, one of Scotland’s most fjord-like locations – perfect reflections on a perfect summer’s day. This particular image looks slightly surreal, as it combines two exposures (one exposed for the highlights, one for the shadows) to form a ‘High Dynamic Range’ image.
This week – I really like how Gary Zukav explains emotional energy and how it works in our body-mind system:
“The experience of intimacy is not related to how others act or do not act, or how they speak or do not speak. It depends upon how energy leaves your energy system. When energy leaves your processing system in love and trust, the result is the experience of intimacy. When it leaves in fear and doubt, the result is the opposite experience. You feel isolated and separate.
Intimacy is letting your guard down. You relax into the present moment without reservation. You become a friend to the world, and the world becomes a friend to you. You welcome every circumstance instead of resisting it. You face forward into the wind. The wind is the force of your life shaping itself to meet your most fundamental needs – the needs of your soul.
Every circumstance becomes a gift – the friend who assists you, the neighbour who deceives you, the stranger who smiles, kind people and brutal people, individuals who meet your expectations and individuals who do not. All provide you with opportunities to explore yourself and change yourself. The issue is never about another individual. It is always about you. The question is not how to change other people. It is how to change yourself so that you do not relive the same painful experiences.”
