“Snow feathers” – hoar frost crystals
Welcome to what seems to have become the weekly snow report!
This was taken on a wee local ski expedition last week. Temperatures were below freezing all week with lows of minus 16C, allowing these amazing frost crystals to build up. With no wind, and blue skies, conditions were just beautiful. Then on wednesday we had our big snowfall – 60cm fell overnight locally, cutting us off. We’ve been digging ourselves out ever since…
“At times I feel as if I am spread out over the landscape and inside things and am myself living in every tree, in the splashing of the waves, in the clouds and animals that come and go, in the procession of seasons.”
– Carl Jung
