SpeyBergs

“SpeyBergs” – floating ice on the River Spey

We had some very low temperatures during the week – several nights at  minus 15 – with stunning crisp sunny days.  Despite a thaw yesterday my garden is still covered in deep snow.  It has been almost impossible to actually get anywhere, with the deep soft snow making it difficult on foot or ski.

This was taken along the riverbank during the week.  The river was covered in floating ice patches, making a lovely shooshing sound as they slid by.

“The world is never quiet, even its silence eternally resounds with the same notes, in vibrations that escape our ears.”

– Albert Camus
