Loch an Eilein Ripples
We had a “proper” September morning last monday with early mist clearing to brilliant blue. I was out in good time on the bike to catch the mist rising from the forest, but liked best this fallen tree on the shores of Loch an Eilein.
Mindfulness has come up in conversation with a few friends this week, so with that in mind (!), here are some thoughts:
Try reminding yourself from time to time: “This is it.” See if there is anything at all that it cannot be applied to. Remind yourself that acceptance of the present moment has nothing to do with resignation in the face of what is happening. It simply means a clear acknowledgment that what is happening is happening.

“Generosity is another quality which, like patience, letting go, non-judging, and trust, provides a solid foundation for mindfulness practice. You might experiment with using the cultivation of generosity as a vehicle for deep self-observation and inquiry as well as an exercise in giving. A good place to start is with yourself. See if you can give yourself gifts that may be true blessings, such as self-acceptance, or some time each day with no purpose. Practice feeling deserving enough to accept these gifts without obligation-to simply receive from yourself, and from the universe.”
