Lupins

Its midsummer, and we have light from 3.30am until 11pm – so its a shame that its been a constant ‘twilight zone’ of grey and rain all week; apart from midsummer’s day which dawned blue and beautiful.  I went for an early morning walk to the ‘Lupinarium’ which grows on a large gravel island in the Spey.  The colours were so intense and vibrant with the sparkly backlighting, and I particularly liked this image of ‘lupin lanterns’.

“When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you  don’t blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have  problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce.
