Ice patterns – toned black and white
Although I have converted this photo to black and white and given it a toning effect, the colours are not that far off from the original, with warm sunset colours on the blue ice. I liked the contrast at the edge of the unfrozen pools.
We’ve had quite a weather week of it here in Scotland, with a wee bit of snow and frost at the start of the week, 165mph winds recorded on cairngorm summit during thursday’s storm, snow again on friday and a beautiful frosty saturday, then more storms last night. As I write this the moon is shining down into my room, having just passed saturday’s full moon.
“To the ego, the present moment hardly exists. Only past and future are considered important. This total reversal of the truth accounts for the fact that in the ego mode the mind is so dysfunctional. It is always concerned with keeping the past alive, because without it – who are you?
You cannot find yourself by going into the past. You can find yourself by coming into the present.”
– Eckhart Tolle, ‘The Power of Now’
