After several days of rain, a day of sun and sparkle. This pair of interleaving Rowan trees caught my attention with their vibrant light.
The Rowan has been revered across Europe as a sacred tree since early times. Its older name, Quicken-Tree, from the Anglo-Saxon cvic (life) indicates ‘Sharing out the blessings of life’.
(Fred Hageneder: The Spirit of Trees)
“… we see science climbing the proverbial mountain of knowledge only to find Buddha sitting on top … we see that science’s modern discoveries and the ancient teachings of great spiritual leaders lead to the same conclusion: This is a world of relationship. Nobody gets off the bus. We’re all in this together.”
