Orchid.
The first orchids are out this week. They mostly seem to grow in bogs, hence the photographer rapidly developed “wet-knee” syndrome. There’s quite a variety of them – they’re not just foreign exotic plants, but native exotic flowers too!
Solstice Greetings!
Its the longest day. The time of greatest vitality in the solar cycle… and all week long its been mostly cold, wet and gloomy! Its light from 3am until after 11pm, at least here in the North of Scotland. It seems a shame when all that light is hidden away behind the clouds. A reminder to us not to hide our own light, perhaps?
Shine on! Here’s to enjoying the fruits of summer and the fruits of our labours.
“If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear.”
– A Midsummer Night’s Dream, W. Shakespeare.
