Ice refraction, Loch Garten, Strathspey.
Christmas day – loch Garten had totally frozen during the previous week of low temperatures. A slight thaw created all manner of shapes with the wind pushing ice up, which then refroze as the cold returned.
The sounds were amazing as the surface boomed and creaked under the pressure from the wind.
I love the shapes and colours, the blues, with the orange from the sun coming through one corner.
“Things don’t go wrong and break your heart so you can become bitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were intended to be.”
– Samuel Johnson, English Poet, 1709 – 1784.
“If you are going to walk on thin ice, you might as well dance!”
