Ring of Brodgar, Orkney, in mist.
It was a rather misty, chilly day on this visit to the amazing Ring of Brodgar, but the energies around the stones were beautiful. The ring is classed as a henge and is, for me, at the heart of Orkney, and one of the wonders of the British Isles. It is certainly at the heart of the Orkney World Heritage Site along with the neighbouring Stones of Stenness. With a diameter of 340 feet, this photo only shows a small part of the ring.
I like the atmosphere in this photo , especially in black and white.
“The imagination is not an escape, but a return to the richness of our true selves; a return to reality.”
– George Mackay Brown (1921 – 1996; Orkney poet)
